In June 2021 Honda South Africa launched the Jazz replacement, which they allowed to be called the Fit like in many other international markets. The car came in a couple of derivatives, including a Hybrid. In the growing market of hybrids, the Fit Hybrid has now been updated in order to better compete with newer hybrids, especially from China.

The Honda Fit e:HEV Hybrid is now available in Mzansi for R544 900. Such a price gets you a 10kW power bump from 80kW to 90kW. Peak torque remains at 253Nm. This powertrain is still based on the 1.5-litre petrol engine and is said to return the same 3.7 litres per 100km that its predecessor was claimed to.

This being a facelift, the e:HEV Hybrid is fitted with new bumpers, while the interior gets a wireless phone charger. Whether these rather slight changes will prove to be a mind changer with the market remains to be seen.
